Open the document that got the content for your blog post.
Open and login to WordPress site where you need to publish the blog.
Go to Wordpress Dashboard and choose Post > Add New.
Layout the content from the google document.
Add the Title and the content on respective Blocks.
Click Add media to attach an image.
You will then get an option to upload the file and insert that into your post.
After adding all the content, scroll down to see the Yoast SEO section at the bottom part when editing the blog post.
Look for items like below and click Edit Snippet to edit other details and type the focus keyword provided on the document.
Look onto the document with your contents, there is usually SEO items included along with it.
Update the SEO Title (Blog Title) , slug ( this is found on the Blog URL ie. how-to-publish-blog) and Meta description accordingly.
On the upper right side of your screen you will see the Category and Tags.
Choose the proper category and place the required tags as listed in the document.
You also have an option to upload a featured image. You can simple click it and upload the file but make sure that the file name of the image is related to the blog title or focus keyword .
NOTE: When uploading a file, you must fill out the Alt Text with the keyword used for the blog.
After everything is in place, you can check how it looks hitting the Preview button.
If it needs approval, you can screenshot this and Save as Draft. You can share the screenshot via email to get approval.
If approved, you can already publish it or schedule it in future time by clicking on Publishing > Choose publishing date and time > OK > Schedule.
After Publishing or scheduling the blog post you will then see the Permalink being updated.
- Copy that and update it in the google doc like below:
- Insert a comment on google doc that got your content. You may also share the permalink with them if it has been scheduled and tag your manager and other required recipients as this will share an update with them of your current progress.
